I am getting the following error message when trying to start up HM:

The following error occurred when trying to open the database. Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.

I click ok, it then takes me to the postgreSQL database control panel where I get the error message again. I click ok, then click start Holdem Manager and it starts up, the HUD works too, so what is going on here? I am running as admin, as I'm following steps to try configure it for Ongame, which I am having no success with at all.

Now it won't import so I tried closing and re-opening, and it doesn't open at all now. Will post a screenshot of the error message when im done playing.

The problem is the automatic windows updates from the past day or 2.

This is almost always a Firewall or UAC issue. Often caused by windows updates.

Try this:

Programs -> PostgreSQL 8.3 -> Stop Service,
then Programs -> PostgreSQL 8.3 -> Reload Configuration, then Programs -> PostgreSQL 8.3 -> Start Service.

If that doesn't help:

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Please try following all of these FAQs, step by step:

1) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
2) http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171
3) http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

If that doesn't help at all we may want to schedule a remote support session to assist you.
