View Full Version : HEM suddenly stopped working, won't connect to PostgreSQL

Tried to open up HEM today, but I'm just getting an error message, it won't connect to the PostgreSQL which, if memory serves correct (and I had to hve therapy to try to blank some of it out) was a complete nightmare to get sorted in the first place.

Very curious, laptop was shut down as normal last night rather than crashing or anything, but the database was dreadful to set up in the first place so getting this error is not what I wanted this morning.

Help please.

Same problem here. Only thing different that I can think of is a Java update.

The latest Vista Update causes this.
For most users a simple additional reboot solved it.

Please come back if you need further help.

Many thanks, what a relief, all sorted. Sorry, getting the database to work when I first got HEM was such a nightmare I couldn't face any problems with it.

A reboot did not fix the problem for me, I am a FR player and it seems to think that all my tables are short handed, with 0/6 people sitting at all of them. I have the latest beta.

That sounds like a completely different problem than what the OP described.

1) Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.
2) If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.
3) If that doesn't help, please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174
4) Post the answers in a new thread on the HM Forums - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/index.php
