HEM cant find players in my restored database

I have a new Vista Ult x64 pc
installed software and restored my most recent back up, and I get this error message when HEM is starting to load.

An error occured when retrieving the player list: ERROR: 22P05: character 0x90 of encoding "WIN1252" has no equivalent in "UTF8"

updated to 1.09 beta 28, Im still getting the same error.
deleted and restored db, same error.
reinstalled HEM, same error.
disabled UAC, same error.


I'm trying to make a 2nd backup and reload it on my new PC.
any suggestions?

I just saw that PostgresSQL in my old PC is 8.2 and In my new one its 8.3.
could this be the cause? anyway to work around this?

Yes, that is the problem. You can either install 8.2 on your new machine, but I would recommend you just export your DB from the SQL 8.2 version of HM to text files, and import those to your new pc with 8.3.
