How do I create a Windows shortcut? (http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000739.htm)

The shortcut needs to point to \RVG Software\Holdem Manager\HoldemManager.exe

RVG Software\holdemmanager is a folder. You find holdemmanager.exe in this folder.
If you have activated "Hide known file types" in your explorer it should be marked as Application, Program or sth. like that.

1) Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.
2) Reboot, and run the installer first thing.
3) Make sure the update is installing to the proper \holdem manager folder

while updating the beta this popped up 3 times...unable to replace the following file:C:\ProgramFiles\RVGSoftware\HoldemManager\Dev Components.DotNetBar2.dll

it did finish however, does that matter at all?

1) Clear your web cache, and download the beta update again, with another browser if possible.
2) Right-Click > Save Link As to save it to a different folder.
3) Reboot, and run the installer first thing.
4) Make sure the update is installing to the proper \holdem manager folder

The 'installer' is the beta update file you should have downloaded, that will 'install' the beta update - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.

same thing happened.

Did you reboot immediately before running the update like I had said to previously? Please do so.

1) Clear your web cache, and download the beta update again, with another browser if possible.
2) Right-Click > Save Link As to save it to a different folder.
3) Reboot, and run the installer first thing.
4) Make sure the update is installing to the proper \holdem manager folder

Or you can try to manually end the HM processes in the task manager, before you run the update installer.

Ctrl + Alt + Del > Processes > Click Image Name to sort alphabetically > End any of these processes you see:

dbcontrolpanel.exe
hmimport.exe
hmhud.exe
holdemmanager.exe
