View Full Version : $ EV question

I understand how the +/- EV is calculated per hand, but my question is about how HM calculates it for a session.

For example: I played a 551 hand session with a $ EV of -$19.20 according to HM under the "sessions" tab. But when I look at all 551 individual hands, the only ones with a $ EV not 0 are: +26.51, +4.19, -17.67, -2.13, -0.05.

I would assume that the $ EV for the entire session would be the sum of all of the individual hand $ EV amounts, which in this case would be +$10.85. Is there something else I'm missing or is this some kind of bug?

Some additional info: I'm playing Hold'em cash games on Full Tilt and using version 1.09 beta 23a. Thanks.

Did you click the [x] All radio button to pull all 551 hands into the Hands tab?

Yes, I was set to view all and at the bottom it says "551 hands returned".

Should be the Sum, i have never seen a difference there (to be honest i didn't check it).

Please mail all the handhistories with a link to this thread to fabio@holdemmanager.net so he can have a look into it.

I understand what it does now, I guess I was just reading it wrong. Its taking the actual $ won/lost and adding/subtracting the $ EV difference from that number to get the actual $ EV.
