View Full Version : Connection-problems with PostgreSQL still exist after trying all the tips and FAQ's'

Hi there,

I used HEM for the past months without any problems. However, since space on my C: drive was running out, I decided to move everything (both HEM and Postgresql) to my D: partition. Backed up my HEM database and uninstalled HEM and postgresql. That's when the problems started.

After installing, I get this famous "Unable to read transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host."-error a when trying to connect it with postgresql.

I spent the past days reinstalling, browsing help-forums and following the tips from for instance:

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171
and finally, minutely followed tips from
http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

As far as I can see, I did everything exactly as was advised (except, naturally, that I placed everything on my D: partition, instead of C:), but still, I receive the same error-message over and over again.

So, I'm at the point where its really frustrating. I'm not a computer-expert at all and probably screw up with something very simple, but can't figure out what it is exactly.

Any chance you guys can help me out? Additional tips? Teamview session?

Many thanks in advance.

This normally is a firewall issue. You need to configure exceptions for postgresql and holdemmanager or disable your firewall.

If you can't work it out: Please schedule a remote support session with our support manager. Email fabio@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread and your forum name, so he can setup a Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) session.
