View Full Version : "Import progress" bar is not working [1.09 beta 26]

Hello!

I've noticed that "Import progress" bar doesn't show info about import status (hands imported, hands per second, etc).

No matter which import option I use (Import from file, Import from folder, Auto-import) progress bar shows nothing:

PS I use Windows 7 RTM, HM(+Omaha) 1.09 beta 26 (but this problem was in early betas too)

Is UAC Off? Does it actually import hands and just not display the progress?? Or is it not even importing hands?

Is your windows up to date? Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 installed?

If netsrak doesn't have any ideas, my suggestion would probably be a quick reinstall of HM.


Before you uninstall HM:

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98)

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories, your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/?f=119) I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files:

HM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands

Make sure you copy that folder as well as the other stuff I mentioned.

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong with the backup/restore, you can manually import the exported files to rebuild.



- When reinstalling HM, install the full setup, then the latest beta patch and finally your config folder if you want to use your previous hud configs.

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with Windows Control Panel
3) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
6) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
7) Test if it for a while and see if it work
8) Close down Holdem Manager and copy the config folder from step 1 and copy and overwrite it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and import any notes and hands/database.
9) Test if it works again for a while

Import works fine and it just not display the progress, but thanks for the answer - I'll try all those steps and post results here :)

Ok, the problem is solved! :D I've turned UAC off and "Import progress" bar starts display progress status :)

PostreSQL works fine with UAC turned ON. So, I don't even think that UAC can "break" HM :)
