Hello, I'm using the trial version 1.08.04 of the software on Full Tilt with postgres.

Holdem manager stop updating the hud after 4 or 5 hands.
Then the HUD doesn't come up at all.
It continues to import hands.

I've made no changes to the default settings.

I've tried:
"Relaunch HUD"
unclick/click Table manager
start/stop autoimport

How do I fix this?

Thanks in advance.

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.
If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73. If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.
If that doesn't help, please answer these questions - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174

Thanks updating fixed it!

How do you make it add observed tables to the database?

Since the last FTP Update FTP no longer writes handhistories for observed hands.

The only option you have is a prefetch of up to 5 hands per table. You can activate it in the site options for FTP and you need to add the displayed folder to your Auto-Import configuration.

In the FAQ it is explained for Stars: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=29

Thanks a lot for the tips!

I configured the HEM Data + subfolders but I can't figure out how to adjust site options for the prefetch up to to 5 hands per table for FTP.

That faq (and every other faq) is being updated currently.

You can pre-fetch 1 - 5 hands before you sit:

*HUD Options > Site Options > Full Tilt > Pre-Fetch > 1 - 5 hands
*Make note of the Pre-Fetch folder, and add that path to the Options > Configure Auto Import Folders
*C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Importing\HEM Data

Now if you start auto import, and open the tables, you can get stats before you sit. It takes a good 2 or 3 hands until the stats appear for Pre-Fetch at FTP, compared to Stars where it is almost instant.

Note: When you sit down at a table with observed stats, the ftp client spins the table to auto-center your seat. HM can not spin the HUD to match until it has imported your first hand. So, the HUD will be visible on hand 1, but will not be aligned properly. I recommend using the Abb. name stat if you dont already to help you spot this when it occurs. If you don't know also, you can assign color ranges to the Abb. Name stat according to their stack size in big blinds. It's a great feature for spotting short-stackers.

Thanks, I was looking for it in the wrong place!

Thanks so much, I got holdem manager working great.
Then I stopped it and restarted it.
Now I get a Connect to PostgreSQL window poping up.

It asks to fill in Server Name, Port Number Login Name and Password

I used port number 5432, Login Name postgres, Password postgrespass.

What do I use for Server Name?

127.0.0.1

Thank you very much again!

Holdem manager now works when I run as the system administrator account

When I run Holdem manager as a non-system administrator account.
I get Unhanded Exception Error, I tell it to Continue and then it hangs on Initializing Database. Usually I don't allow myself to run as system administrator , except for installing software (I'm far to stuid). Do I have to do something to let limited accounts run Holdem Manager?

I'm using XP.

Thanks

Because of the communication with Postgresql, the importing of hands and the control of the HUD Holdemmanager.exe and Hmhud.exe need administrator rights to work. I don't know whether you can configure it individually in XP.
