My computer had some major problems and I was on the phone with Dell for 4 hours and they were wiping/clearing adware/spyware but still kept all the data on my computer. I tried open HEM today and heres what I got...

The following occured when trying to open the database. Failed to establish connection to 127.0.0.1

Then it takes me to the database control panel where it will not let me connect...

What can I do to fix this?

I really have no clue what happened and would like to try and get it fixed asap, I could do teamview if possible.

Lots of spyware and optimisation tools damage the postgresql installation.

If you cant get the postgresql service running again you will need to reinstall postgresql

Hello,

Saw this thread and having similar problems so didn't want to start a new one.

I uninstalled postgreSQL, and was going to reinstall when I saw that the versions listed here http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/ didn't include just version 8.3

Should I reinstall using version 8.35, 8.36, or 8.37?

Please update to the latest HM beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe.

We still suggest 8.3.7-1, but that is mostly because we haven't yet wrote a FAQ for installing the new 8.4.0-1

Here is our current FAQ:

I had no issues installing 8.4 on my XP machine. Note: You have to export your 8.3 DB to text files and import them manually to 8.4. You can't backup/restore the same DB to a different SQL major version.

Tried various fixes including the sticky but couldn't get it to work. So I uninstalled/reinstalled everything and now it can connect to postgreSQL again. So I played a few hands but each and every hand is being imported as an error.

I followed the quick install guide for postgreSQL and HEM. I got the auto import folder for stars configured correctly, and hands are writing to it. I'm using version 1.08.04

Any ideas why hands aren't importing correctly?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you read this in nearly every other thread:

Please make sure you have the 1.09 beta 29 patch from the link in my signature.

If that doesn't help, or you need help for any reason, please let us know.
