I have a question........

I have a pretty huge database as I subscribe to a HH service.........

Is it possible to clean out the database of players who have not played online in at least the last year?

How do I completely delete hand histories from my database? (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=152)

If you import mined hands, I would suggest you make sure you have turned off the postgresql logging and deleted the log files. The space they waste can be dramatic (as is the performance hit from the logging process). It is explained in the following links.

I would suggest you do the majority of the things in this thread: http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11194

Some of the most important things, imo:

- Turning off logging and deleting existing logs
- Vacuum/Full/Analyze, then Reindex
- SQL Tuning Wizard
- Defrag last and make sure you stop the postgresql service before you defrag. I personally use Defraggler.
- Do a Cold Boot (Shut Down > Start) before you use HM again

Thanks for the reply but it doesnt really do what I want to do?

I don't want to delete ALL hands of say 12 months or older.......... just the hands of players who no longer play online or changed account names.
Some the hands I would delete will be useful from current players........
Obviously I don't want to do that.

Any ideas?

Filter HM for the hands you want to delete, go to the Hands tab, click the radio button for (x) All to load all the filtered hands.

Right-Click > Delete All Hands in List
