Was playing on FTP and it was fine and then all of a sudden
HEM just stopped recognising the tables, it said "go to the
Holdem manager folder and click HNhud.exe and run as administrator"
did tht and now HEM wont even open. When i do try and open it says:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

My opetions are to quit or continue, if i continue then it just pretends it is loading for ages, what should i do?!

Please reboot and update to the latest beta from the link in my signature. If that doesn't help, you will probably have to reinstall HM. This won't affect your database, and is relatively simple to do, once you back up a few things from HM.

Before you uninstall HM:

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98)

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories (typically C:\HMArchive), your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

If you have any custom HUD configs, export them, just in case you need them later - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=169

Export your HM Notes - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=119

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong you can manually import the exported files to rebuild if necessary.

Most of these previous things you shouldn't need for this reinstall, but it's better safe than sorry.

Vista: Turn off UAC - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

Turn off Windows Firewall for installing HM and PostgreSQL. Once you get those installed you can add exceptions to the firewall. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

When reinstalling HM, install the full setup, then the latest beta patch and finally your config folder if you want to use your previous hud configs.

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller
3) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
8) Test if it for a while and see if it work
9) Close down Holdem Manager and copy the config folder from step 1 and copy and overwrite it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and import any notes and hands/database.
10) Test if it works again for a while

If you have problems or need help, please let me know.

Thanks tht did help. I've one more question. my laptop broke and i asked the computer shop to try and recover the Holdem manager file, which they did.
So when i open the folder it come up with different folders:
Config
Filters
Images
Replayer skins etc...
I was just wondering if there was a file in this folder that has all my Hand Histories in it. I had like a good 20k hands or so on my other computer and would like to import them into my new one, is this possible?

Your original Hand History files are imported to the PostgreSQL database. That is what HM draws it's data from for queries. The actual database is typically stored in C:\PostgreSQL\8.3\data. This is what allows you to reinstall HM without losing your database. You can backup/compress this database thru PGAdmin to be able to restore later on new machines or after a reformat/reinstall of SQL. You can even reinstall SQL and use your entire previous \data folder if you are using the same major version of postgresql.

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177

The original hands are then moved to an archive folder which you (hopefully) had setup for your HM installation. This is typically something like C:\HMArchive or C:\Holdem Manager\Archive, unless you put it in an unusual place.

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=56

You are able to export your entire database at any time to text files also, to keep along with your original/processed hands.

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

The most important thing to keep a copy of, in addition to the \holdem manager folder, is your original and exported hand history archives. If you do not have a copy of a .backup file or the \data folder, your text files are your lifeline to recreating your DB via the manual import options.

If you play at a major site like Stars or FTP, you can send an email to support@yourpokersite.com and request every hand history file and tournament summary, for every hand you have ever played.
