Stars HEM and HUD issues

I run 64bit Vista. I was running HEM 1.09 beta 15 (I think 15, not sure) earlier today. I had not played at Stars cash games for a month or two before today. I have been playing at Full Tilt with no issues at all before or since this issue at Stars.

I started up 24 tables at Stars and turned on HEM & started importing. I noticed the HUD was not working at all. Then I looked at the hands importing, and as it was importing hands, there were way more errors than the number of hands importing.

I probably played a couple hundred hands before stopping. When I tried to look at my results in the cash game tab, I could not change my player name from FT to stars. The Stars name vanished. See pic:

so when I try to Edit List, I have no option to edit anything aside from the option to delete FT:

So I figure I should check the HEM thread to see if there's an update to fix this. I download and install 1.09 beta 23a. Same issues.

I go to the player tab and find cha59 for today on stars and it only shows I played 19 hands (remember I actually played a couple hundred).

*** (probably unimportant) At some point along the way, I hit the Remove button for my cha59 (FT) in the above screen, and I was getting errors when I tried to open the change player drop down, but that went away after restarting the program a few times, and now I am still stuck with FT only. ***

I still cannot get cha59 stars to show in the cash tab. I go to options->player aliases and make sure I have this:

I am at a loss. Can someone please help? Is there any other information you need?

Is UAC off? - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73

If it is on, turn it off and reboot, and try HM.

If it is already off, or doesn't help, please reboot your computer, clear your browser cache or use a different browser, download and install the latest update 1.09.Beta 23a again - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

If that doesn't work it may be necessary to try a clean reinstall of HM. If we get to that point I can give you nice set of cliff notes to do it.

Yeah, uac has always been off.

I cleared the cache in my browser (Firefox), restarted, re-installed the update successfully again and still the same issue. Remember I had this issue with the older version I was running as well (1.09beta 15 or so).

I'm going to play some on FT right now. If you could direct me to those notes on re-installing a clean version, I'll try that later tonight or tomorrow. I wonder if that would fix the problem though - considering the fact I had this problem before I installed the latest beta?

I don't think HEM recognizes the new header in the Hand History file. I tried to get the HUD to work and it didn't come up. The files imported but even if I use the refresh button I cannot see the session from today, and it is not adding the hands to my total.

Please try manually cut any 'stuck' hand histories from the FTP HH folder and paste them to a new folder on the desktop, and Import From Folder.

It is usually best to start your own thread, so the problems can be kept separate.

OK that did work to get the hands in thanks. Now if the HUD would magically start working again that would be wonderful :)

After installing the Update you need to check the administrator settings (run as administrator) for your Stars client, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe.

Also please check that your Stars client still writes english handhistories into the configured folder.

For changing the player name in the reports you need to click directly on change not on the arrow besides. I recommend you create an alias for both of your screennames: http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=35

I'm not sure whether i covered every of your existing problems so please come back if you need further help.

Please try the same:

When you search the cash games for your screen names, what appears in the list? Cha59 (FTP), Cha59 (PS), or a Cha59 (Alias)?? Does it find your hands if you select the Cha59 (PS) name? Have you tried creating an alias name, that is different from your (identical) screen names?

Here's the weird part, although its really not a problem. I found my 19 hands played on stars yesterday by running a report for all players this month on stars with >10 hands played. This is what I found:

Here is what I get when I run my own stats in the cash games tab:

So one area says I played 19 hands and the other says 139. Im not all that concerned about that now.

**** EDIT :p I figured this out too. I was playing full ring. The filter for the search I did in players was for 2 - 6 players. ****

I'm going to play a bit on stars & see if the hud works. I'm optimistic.

I played. No import errors and the hud worked fine. Such a simple thing gave me fits yesterday. Thanks for the help guys!
