View Full Version : HUD giving me epileptic fit

Hi,

I've literally just bought HEM...so I'm running the latest version, 1.08.04.

Just got the HUD running on Betfair and I can see some stats on all players sat at my table etc.

However the little boxes etc with the stats in are impossible to look at because they're incessantly flashing off/on (I can't think of another way to explain what it's doing, they sort of "blink")

I've been playing for 5mins and it's giving me a headache - completely unusable, I've had to turn it off...

Any help would be hugely appreciated. I really like HEM otherwise, but main reason I bought it was for HUD so need to get this working ASAP!

:)

edit: I've tried updating graphics drivers but they're current. Have also tried switching colour to 16bit to no effect.

Cheers!

Please update to the latest beta from the link in my signature.

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73) If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

If that doesn't help, please answer these questions (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=174) so we better understand your system.

Thanks very much. I've tried "force ontop" upon recommendation from another mod and this isn't working either.

I don't have the problem myself. I would note that Betfair has given others this problem in the past. If force on top didn't resolve the problem, I don't know what else to suggest.

I have the same problem.. the HUD is blinking.... (Betfair)? Any idea why? I am with XP... but my hardware is not so good.. HUD work perfectly on, stars, everest, B2B....

I search for this problem in the forum... and nothing helps... It's interesting to find the exact problem..

If Force On Top is ON, the HUD work if it's not on the table...For example if i use Firefox the HUD works good, but when the table window become active, it start blinking....

Same problems with betfair. I am using HM for some time and I am delighted with the product, works perfectly on Stars, FTilt, Everest...
Today i installed Betfair i am experiencing problems with flickering HUD. I am using Windows XP SP3 and latest beta for HM. I did notice same problems with HUD on other sites when I try to watch something on KM Player while playing poker. Hope you'll figure something out soon. Thanks

P.S. I have tried Force Ontop option, didn't change anything

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73 and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall, even if it is off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installed.

If that doesnt help, hopefully the HUD developer will have some more ideas.

I think that the people who have this flickering problem should create hijack this log files and send them to mike to see if there any coincidences with what programs we're running which may conflict with the hud on Betfair. My friend has done everything that fozzy suggested in the previous post, but the problem still remains.

That is a good suggestion. Mike was on vacation last week, but I expect he will be in this thread sometime tomorrow when he is back on the job.

Are there any news considering this problem? It's really hard to play like this. I didn't mention this earlier but when i play at betfair as soon as table scanner stars, in addition to flickering hud, I notice huge drop in performance and animations aren't as smooth as they used to. When i turn table scanner off it's normal again. I just installed beta 38 and it makes no difference.

Installed HEM and betfair on two laptops this morning. I didn't see any problems. I think the problems are more likely to be due to your video cards and drivers.

Thanks for quick response. Glad there is a way to make it work. I'll probably try upgrading my video card
