Purging hands - just making sure

I read this answer when doing a search but I just want to confirm. When we purge hands in bulk, the stats on the players are not affected, correct? Only the hand histories are removed from the database?

if so, for what purpose is the purge?
and what if i want to to delete completely the hh and stats? it doesnt make snese using old stats about players that often changes their game

Options > Purge Hands completely delete hands and all traces of the HH and stats

Its purpose is to delete unwanted hands or to save space

Options > Hand History Observation > Purge Hand History deletes the HH details so you can not review it in replayer etc but allows you to keep the stats on the player.

Its purpose is to save space in a database without losing stats on a player

We give you the option to do both, some people dont want hands older that 1 month, 6 months or a year so all these people have the choice. Some people like to keep stats longer than others for research purposes for example

Purging saves you about 1kb per hand, this are 5GB on 5mio hands.

Vacuum/analyze is supposed to optimize data retrieval and reclaim disk space as a result of lots of changes made to the database. Ironically, I backed up my database before and after the purge and was surprised to see the size of the backup file increased in spite of purging ~1M hand histories.

You need to vacuum after a purging in order to reclaim the free space

Hey I recently have had some problems. I go to Options > Purge Hands. Select the Hands i Want to purge. Vacuum my database. And still the stats show up from all my old HH's. Is there anything im missing ?

I got the same problem (using the last beta 1.10 beta 8)
I purged it from Options > Purge Hands... but still see the stats

Thats not possible at the moment. You need to create a new database and reimport the hands.

For filtering older stats in the Hud you should use the date filter in the additional Hud filters.
