Hi

Ever since I installed HEM (and imported my old database) onto my new computer I've been having many issues:

1) Every time I load HEM it says Optimizing Players. This usually takes about 5 minutes.

2) When loading a graph/looking at players/sessions etc, it takes FOREVER. In fact, I cannot even look at sessions because it just stalls out. Basically the only thing I can do is look at a graph, and this takes forever and sometimes there are problems.

3) It doesn't save my player aliases. I have to re-add them each time I load HEM.

Basically it is not working properly, and I don't know what to do. I have the newest beta version installed. I would like to fix this on my own, so I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you might have for me. THANKS!

Please do a complete round of maintenance and performance improvements. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=11194

Some of the most important things, imo:

- Turning off logging and deleting existing logs
- Vacuum/Full/Analyze, then Reindex
- SQL Tuning Wizard
- Defrag last and make sure you stop the postgresql service before you defrag. I personally use Defraggler.
- Do a Cold Boot (Shut Down > Start) before you use HM again

3) It doesn't save my player aliases. I have to re-add them each time I load HEM.

This should resolve itself after the NoOpt issue is resolved.

I have the newest beta version installed. I would like to fix this on my own, so I would greatly appreciate any suggestions you might have for me. THANKS!

Please verify that your HM updated properly to 1.09 beta 21.

If you have Vista, please verify that UAC is still off. (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmmain.aspx?faqid=73) If it is on, please turn it off and reboot.

Here is what I did:

1) NoOpt worked for stopping the optimizing. However, the aliases still aren't remembered. I have to type them in each time I restart HEM. How can I fix this?

2)Turned off logging and deleted existing logs

3) Completed Vaccum/Full/Analyze and Reindex

4) Link didn't work for SQL tuning wizard (took me to absolute FAQ manager page)

5)Removed winnerwon, winnercards, winnername from hands view columns selector

6) Defragmented

Basically after these steps the only thing that changed is there is no more optimizing. The graphs are still taking forever to load, I still cannot view the sessions tab, previous hands etc. It just stalls and has been doing this since I installed this database on my new computer. Also sometimes the graphs from >2 months ago (when I installed the db) don't seem to always be accurate (completely off)....

Please help me I am going out of my mind here! Thanks
