So I have been having a problem with my computer. I've been getting this memory dump blue screen of death error and I'm going to take it into a computer guy tomorrow to see if he can fix it.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled hem. That didn't work. Not sure what to do next.

I forgot to give you my computer info.

I'm using windows 7 and have a Dell Xps 420 with 3 gigs of ram.

Under Vista or Windows 7make sure UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73
and/or holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory.
Right click the holdemmanager.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu.

Did you install the full version or only the update?
You must first install 1.08.04 http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
and then update to the latest Beta 1.09.20 http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe in the same installation path

I just downloaded and installed the newest beta. It installed fine. I have the UAC disabled and I am tired running it as admin as well just to make sure.

Maybe the download file is corrupt.

Please delete your holdemmanager installation, clear your browser cache.
Download and install holdemmanager again from the links i posted above

Did that and nothing has changed. I am not getting any error while installing them and they are installing quickly.

What error are you getting? The same one as posted in the OP? You could try deleting the prefs.xml, pospref.xml, and pospref2.xml. If that doesn;'t help you could try deleting the holdemmanager.config file also, but you will need to reset a lot of your settings like auto-import folders, archive folder, etc.

I would probably just reinstall HM if it were happening to me.

Before you uninstall HM:

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98)

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories (typically C:\HMArchive), your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

If you have any custom HUD configs, export them, just in case you need them later - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=169

Export your HM Notes - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=119

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong you can manually import the exported files to rebuild if necessary.

Most of these previous things you shouldn't need for this reinstall, but it's better safe than sorry.

Vista: Turn off UAC - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

Turn off Windows Firewall for installing HM and PostgreSQL. Once you get those installed you can add exceptions to the firewall. If you have a 3rd party firewall, uninstall it completely before installing HM/SQL - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=171

When reinstalling HM, install the full setup, then the latest beta patch and finally your config folder if you want to use your previous hud configs.

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and other important files mentioned earlier.
2) Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller
3) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe
8) Test if it for a while and see if it work
9) Close down Holdem Manager and copy the config folder from step 1 and copy and overwrite it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder, and import any notes and hands/database.
10) Test if it works again for a while

The first thing I did after I had the problem was to update to the new beta. That did not fix it. So I uninstalled, restarted my computer, installed, restarted my computer, and updated to the beta. Did not fix it.

I've gone through and done all of the steps that you have given me so far and I'm having the same error. I can't backup the database or the config files because it's already been uninstalled and I dont have access to the database control panel through HEM. Not sure if there is another way of doing it.

The blue screen of death problem I am having with the computer is a stop error where it dumps the physical memory in a blue screen. I am not computer savvy so I dont really know what this means. It has been doing this for the last week but will usually just boot right back up and work fine. HEM was working today before and I got the error and now I can't get it to load up past that initial error message.

Alright, I am going to call a computer technician today and ask about the error. I will schedule it after that.
