I think you need to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

For further information about this error message you can enter and search for hints via google.

Please come back if you need further assistance.

okay, I got postgres installed and now I can't get HEM to connect to the database.

"A connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to have Holdem Manager attempt to start the service?"

I choose yes, then:

"Sorry, Holdem Manager was unable to start the service"

I click ok, and then:

"Holdem Manager has started the service. Please try again."

rinse and repeat.

fwiw, I've installed PostgreSQL and HEM half a dozen times and never had any problems before.

Can you connect to the postgresql server via pgadmin?
