Is there somewhere an explanation for those two ?

Is it updated on every street ?

For example :
100$ stacks
I have AA@BB, BTN raises to 5$, I 3bet 20$, he calls. Flop 875, I bet 25$ he calls. Turn T, I bet my remaining 55$ and he calls.

What's the EV diff for this hand ?

Thanks for answering.

Hi, EV is calculated only for all-in hands and only considers the pot size and equity when the hand went all-in. It is a measure of luck after the hands get all-in

Ev difference is calculated something like this:

Your 80% to win the hand in a 400 pot
80 times out of 100 you should win 400= $32,000
20 times out of 100 you should lose 400 = $8,000

So you with average luck you should be making $24k over 100 hands or an average of $240 per hand.

lets say you win the hand then youve won $400 and should have won an average of $240 so your EV difference is +$160, now obviously over 1 hand this isnt going to be very useful but would be over a larger sample

Now lets say you lose the hand then you lose $400 then your EV diff is -$640

Just to be sure, a simple and stupid example ($100 stacks) :

- if the pot is $190 on flop, I have AA and my opponent TT. A T comes on turn and I bet my remaining $5 so I'm allin, and of course he calls with the best hand.

It's the same thing from your EV difference point of view as:
- if the pot is $10 on flop, I have AA and my opponent TT. A T comes on turn and I bet my remaining $95 so I'm allin and of course he calls with the best hand.

Am I right ? Whatever the bet size is, the only thing that matters is the hand when we're allin ?

Yeah the calculations are based on it being all in and the pot size.

Morny, I am still having a hard time understanding this. Will you please evaluate the following:

Under Sessions tab where it gives you the overall $ and $EV for all of your sessions combined, lets say you lost $10,000 and your $EV is -$15000. Does this mean you should have lost 15000 in real money or you ran 15000 below expectation?

Also, if you are reviewing an individual session and showing all hands and your $ EV differnce is say $15.00 does this mean you ran $15.00 above expectation or giving all hands you should have won $15.00.

Thanks so much for your help. Merry Xmas

I updated the FAQ a while ago to explain this better http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=68
