I'm trying to export all of my hands to file and start my personal database new. Trying to export at once seems to always lock up the software, so I'm trying to get month-by-month exporting to .txt files. However, when I go to 'hands' under 'cash games' and copy all of the hands, pasting them into the file, only a portion of them actually move. I had 39,000 hands and only 33,000 of them were pasted.

If I try to export to file, it is too slow and I'm worried it is having the same error.

What if I don't want all the observed hands? I only want my personal hands.

You may want to try some general DB maintenance and performance improvements, to see if that helps with your exporting performance. - http://208.109.95.123/forum/showthread.php?p=62613&posted=1#post62613

You may also want to try using the 'Between Dates' Filter and try overlapping the dates by a day or 2 each way, when you are exporting, to try and provide some overlap.

Now that I re-read your OP, you could just purge all your observed hands - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=107

or better yet, delete every hand that is not yours - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=152
If you have an Alias, you MUST pick that when using this option. If you pick only one of your screen names, all your others get nuked. Trust me, this is not a good thing. :(

and then export them.

You can also setup the observed hand history configuration on your new db to try to filter out any that sneak thru. Once you have your new DB, you can also try purging/deleting it again before your first vacuum/analyze and defrag.
