Ok, my HUD kept freezing after about 7 hands so I downloaded the latest Beta. Now HM doesn't open at all. I'm using Windows XP Professional and I play on Full Tilt. Why did they need to update their site. Everything was fine as it was! If its not broke, why fix it?

I don't know much about all the computer jargon so please keep any help simple lol. What other information is needed?

This is the error message I get when opening HM now:

And how do I go about doing that? That means nothing to me lol.

Is it worth uninstalling HM completly and then re-installing it?

So I uninstalled it all and re-installed it. Now holdem manager opens, but it seems to be an older version, and it won't let me upgrade. And, the HUD doesn't appear at all. I really hope to get this sorted soon.

Sorry for my first answer, i forgot to add a link to the FAQ Topic.

What do you mean it doesn't let you upgrade?
Reboot your computer and try again.

Ok, I'm going to start from scratch. I uninstalled everything. I downloaded the full version of HM again however when I attempt to start the installer I get this message:

Its just one problem after another it seems =(

You need to Right-Click > Extract the HoldemManager.zip file, before you can run the installer in the package. When you double click on a zip file you are simply opening it in an extraction utility/preview. You need to extract teh contents to a new folder, and then run the installer.

Had the same problem. The BETA fixed it.

I think it works when I'm playing (since I DL'd the beta)... I think

But, am I right in saying that the observed hands aren't being picked up?

Someone had this error the other day. I will have to search for the answer, and let you know shortly.

Correct. They no longer write observed HHs to the disk. In beta 15 you will be able to turn on pre-fetch, to get stats from ur db/hud, before you sit.

Pretty sure 1.08.04 will have problems importing and displaying HUD for tourney's.

I downloaded the file myself and uploaded it to my personal server.

Please Right-Click > Save Target As, and save it to folder, where there is no other copy of this file already. Do not download it to the same downloads folder as before. Then try using the Right-Click > 7Zip menu to extract the contents to a new folder. Then try running the setup file again, if you receive no extraction errors.

Thanks fozzy. It's all working again now. However I assume that the HUD will still freeze after playing for a few mins. I usually play tournaments so should I upgrade to the new Beta or should I wait until it has been sorted for tournaments?

Thx for letting me know, so I can delete that temp file on my server.

You absolutely need beta 14a for FTP to stop the HUD freezing and to be able to import with the new ftp client. Some deep tables, and some tourneys are still having issues I believe. They are trying to address any/all of those issues before they release beta 15.

Will I need to do anything once I've downloaded beta 14a or will it all still work? This is where I began having problems to start with I think. Will I need to export and then import my hands to a new database or something along those lines?

no. Just download the update file from my link, close HM, and run the .exe installer you downloaded. Once you open HM again it should say 1.09 beta 14a on the titlebar of HM.

I downloaded the update and not HM won't open. I just get this message:

I restarted my computer but still got the same message when trying to open HM. I'm sorry, everything seems to be going wrong for me lol.
