View Full Version : Reports sporadically not working + memory leak?

I'm currently having huge issues getting reports to work. At first it seemed like I couldn't get *any* report to work: whenever I attempted to create even a simple one the program would just "think" indefinitely. Then I started messing around, flipping through tabs, refreshing, and I was able to get some low hand-volume reports to function. Any attempt at a 'yearly' report and again the program just "thinks" forever.

HEM had been working fine a few weeks ago when I first installed it. I left it alone for a few weeks, though, and after importing some additional hands I started having the problems described above. I updated to version 1.06.01v and made sure that I'm "running as administrator" and defragmented my hard drive but the problem remains.

Additionally, after I close HEM my hard drive continues to whir incessantly as if it's *still* thinking and everything about my computer becomes slow for the next 1-2 minutes, after which point things return to normal.

Any thoughts?

Ok, the 'memory leak' issue only seems to occur if I close the program while it's still actively *thinking*.

Also, for whatever reason after closing and then re-opening the program for the 3rd or 4th time I'm now able to create yearly reports [of 450,000 hands or so] in 10 seconds.

2 things to try

1) Try a vacuum http://208.109.95.123/faq/?f=60 as this improves how HM runs queries and can improve performance quite a bit in some cases.

2) Create a new database and import some hands and see if you still have the same issues, closing HM while its running a query might have cause database problems http://208.109.95.123/faq/?f=146
