I have had HEM for about 2 months now and just the other day when I was starting it up it said "HEM has found some poker sites on your computer and added the hand history folders to the auto import list and created a back up folder in C:HMarchive for imported hands." Please check options - Auto Import folders to ensure that the list is complete.

after I got this message and I click "OK" I immediatly get a message that says DBControlPanel has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

It gives me the option to "send error report" or "don't send." Whichever option i choose it closes down HEM and I cannot open it.....it does this every time now and I can't access HEM...should I just dowload it again...

Please try installing 1.09 Beta 13 and see if it will open. - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

If not:

Reinstalling HM and updating to the latest beta is the quickest solution. It is a pretty quick and painless process.

Before you uninstall HM:

I want to re-install Holdem Manger without losing all of my settings and preferences. Can this be done? (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=98)

You want to make sure you backup your Processed/Archived hand histories, your entire \config folder, and your exportednotes file. (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/?f=119) I usually just copy my entire \Holdem Manager directory.

I would also make sure you manually export the database to hand history text files:

HM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands

Make sure you copy that folder as well as the other stuff I mentioned.

This helps to insure that if anything goes wrong with the backup/restore, you can manually import the exported files to rebuild.

Uninstall from Windows Control Panel. I prefer Revo Uninstaller.

When reinstalling HM, install the full setup, then the latest beta patch and make sure HM opens properly. Then close HM and paste your previous/original config folder into place, and import any exported notes.

If you have any problems, or need any assistance, please let us know and we will help you get it working.
