How long must a break be for HEM not to consider 2 sessions the same session?

Default is 30 minutes.
But you can change this in HoldemManager.config file
it is in folder ...\Holdem Manager\Config
open file as text and edit this line, then save file
setting name="SessionTimeoutDuration">30
But not less than 15 minutes

Is there any reason why it can not be less than 15 mins?

Thanks!

You can set it to a value lower than 15 minutes... it's just not recommended....
because for example if there is a tournament break.... or in the bubble of a large tournament it goes to hand-by-hand mode... or in shootout tournies where you finish your table really early, but then have to wait 15 minutes for the other table to finish, etc.

when that happens you'd still like the hands to be counted as all played during the same session.
Setting the sessiontimeoutduration to 10 minutes or even 5 minutes can suddenly split your game into multiple sessions.

Please make sure to open the file holdemmanager.config. If you have "Hide known file extensions.." enabled in the windows folder options it may be displayed as
holdemmanager .......... config file
or something like that.

This doesnīt work for me.

Would be a break enough, or do I have to close HM to make it work?

When i play a Session and retake a Seat i played on hours ago, then all my Stats from that session reappear.

Have your hands been archived when you retake the seat, or are those files still in your import folders?
If they haven't been moved, HoldemManager will always assume it's still the same session.

No they are archieved.

For me it only works for a new day, but i have to restart HM or i will get the Stats from yesterdays session. (I donīt restart my PC every day.)

Two years ago or so i had contact with one of your guys who looked over my "HoldemManager.config" and couldnīt find anything wrong. The only thing he might think that could lead to the behavior, was that i use FreePHG (to see the stats on the table without playing) and should try without it.
But I need it, so i never tried....

But itīs bothering me ever since and there seems to be no real solution.

Are you talking about Hero stats in the Hud or about the reports?

For the hud stats to begin with 0 you have to restart HM.

I just want to ask, if you really understood my problem. When playing a session for some hours and i retake a seat, iīve played before, then the Hud shows me the stats from that past session. To prevent this, I have to close and start HM?

Try one session without FreePHG :) so we can rule out that's causing it.
