Hi I am going through and optimizing my HEM and pgsql, I am left with one burning question:
What would be the problem with only starting pgsql (service) only when I need it?
Currently I am only getting to play poker about once a month, I need my computer for the other stuff I do the other 95% of the time preforming at 100% efficiency. So would it hurt anything if I put the pgsql service to start manually and when I am ready to fire up HEM or play some poker I just go start it?
The fewer things I have for start-up the better because; I have to be able to pull my laptop out on the spot get the information/quote ect as fast a possible and then get a response for my boss or customer.

I almost forgot my second question. I read on the faq or the forum maybe that I could put my HEM DB to work on an external drive, I would really like to know more about this.
I was thinking is to set up my home computer as my designated HEM computer and playing poker on my laptop and just copying the HH to a flash drive and putting them onto my Home Computer for review.
