Postgres was on the computer, so no. In the future HM2's HM Sync would allow you to restore your database from our cloud servers, but that won't help for the problems with HM1.

You will need the original hand histories or a backup file to be able to rebuild or restore your database. The original hands were on the computer, with the postgresql database, so hopefully you have some backups to use.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere.

The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).

If you play a site like stars/ftp you can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney histories/results

This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created).

We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.

This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:

Manual database backup/restore via pgadmin - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup+%26+Restore+Database
