Hello!

I have been using holdemmanager for a while but my rake is way wrong! I play at Pokerstars and if I have been usning data from holdemmanager to calculate that my max rake can possibly be 90$ (using 5% of my total winning) but holdemmanager says that I have payed more then 200$ of rake.

Is there anyway to make holdemmanager use pokerstars way to calulate the rake?

Thanx for any help!

The rake is not 5% of your winnings. The rake is 5% of all the pots you play, whether you win, lose, or fold before showdown.

I´m a newbie to poker but the one who win is the one who pays the rake, right? If I pay 1$ and so does another player there is 2$ in the pot. Lets say he win, he then get 1,90$ and pays 0,10$ rake, or I´m I wrong?

Thats not true, Gasimoe. Pokerstars, like other pokerrooms, uses dealt rake. It is rake paid / no. of players. So if at stars a pot reaches 8$ the players pay 40Ct rake. Even if you folded preflop you get awarded with 1VPP (like every other players at this table will get) e.g. you are 8 players at a table, pot reaches 8$, rake=5%=40Ct, HM shows you that you paid 5Ct rake (40Ct/8players), exactly what stars does for VPP-calculation.

Thanx for trying to explain for me, but I´m even stupier then I look :)

Does it take som Ct from every players stack even if foled preflop? So if a watch 2 guys go all in I will lose alot at paying the rake for them?

I have been trying to calcuate some but I dont get it toghete so I´m sure you are right! But when I read at pokerstars and don´t get it this way...

Wait a sec! Does it take the money direktly from the chasier??? I think I just lose 1$ from there!

I would like a message that says how much and when pokerstars takes rake from my account =0/

Cuse what you guys say makes seens cuse then I get the math togheter (paying alot of rake).

But on there faq it says:

What is a ‘rake’? How much is the PokerStars rake?
PokerStars is an internet poker room, not a casino. That means you never play poker against the house, only against other players. PokerStars receives compensation by taking a ‘rake’, a small amount from each ring game pot. This rake from the pot never exceeds $5. At the lower limits, PokerStars takes a smaller rake. Please see our Rake page for exact rake information.

There is no rake in play money games. No ‘per hand’ rake is taken in tournaments; there is only an initial fee to enter. Some tournaments do not charge a fee or a rake.

If its what you say (and it looks like when I check my cash) is not pokerstars information incorrect?

It most be writen the right way some where?

They rake 5% of every pot you win. You are calculating 5% of your net profits. Your net profits are all of your winning hands (gross income) minus all of your losing hands (gross losses).

Your $1,800 profit may consist of $4,000 in winnings and $2,200 in losses.

5% of 4,000 is 200.

So Pokerstars do not use the system Kaizen talks about? I get what you mean and it should make seens I guess...

Thanx again =0)
