I restarted my computer while HEM was running. Now when I start up HEM, Auto-Import is already on and if I click Stop Auto-Import it says Stopping... but never actually stops. My HUD isn't coming up anymore either. I've tried clicking Relaunch HUD, but no luck.

If you are on Vista, please verify that UAC is still off (http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73)

I had a customer the other day with the same problem and it was solved as soon as he turned UAC back off. - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

You can also check the Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Del) > Processes > Look for HMImport.exe

There are some small issues with the import process.
If you stop it and close the program please check the hmimport.exe in the task manager. Sometimes its still running. You can "kill" it and after that HM should work normal again.

If it is off, try this:

first reboot and then

1) Open up control panel
2) Double click on Administrative Tools
3) Double click on Services
4) Find the postgresql service in the list then right click and press “Start”

If it gives an error then check event viewer also in Administrative Tools and find Application and look for a postgres error. If the details mention a bogus postmaster.pid then delete the C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\data\postmaster.pid file and try the instructions again.

If you still get this problem then it is almost always due to anti virus / firewall / spyware software getting in the way of the connection between HM and the database.

If none of that works, I will probably have to ask you to set up a remote support session: email fabio@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so you can schedule a Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com) session. Download and install the Teamviewer software using all the default settings.

Skill -

I ran into the same problem earlier this afternoon when firing it up on my laptop. I had on OLD hand history file that had not been archived yet. I manually moved the file to the archive folder and my HUD started working.

Not really sure what the cause was or why moving the file fixed it, but HUD is happy now :)

Glad to help. Thankfully it was something simple.
