Hi there, my son has managed to download a virus (es) to my computer and I'm having trouble removing them. My easiest option now is just to reformat my hard drive and do a full reinstall. I've done a HEM back up onto a pen drive but what exactly does that back up?
I don't want to lose any information such as Hand Histories, HEM stats, Player Notes, Colour indicators etc.
Will HEM back up all of these or will I have to do anything manually?
Also where can I find my Key so I can reinstall?
TYIA.

Our internal backup/restore system will backup all that stuff but I still suggest you save any/all original hand history files and also do a manual backup/export of the hands/notes/preferences just in case anything goes wrong during the restore process.
If you’re doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.
We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.

This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:
Export and Import your Hand Histories and/or backup and restore your database

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup+%26+Restore+Database
Export any custom HUD configs - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/46/Import+%7B47%7D+Export+HUD+Layout
Export Your Notes

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback – Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg
Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

See this FAQ http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/26/Registration+Benefits on how to reset your code

The same code can be used on 2 pc's at once and can be reset as often as needed.
Please try using our site to register your current/new license. If your code isn't there already you can upload it manually and then reset the code whenever necessary.
https://www.holdemmanager.com/store/login.php
To get your current license from your running installation of HEM: Help > Show Serial Number
If you have lost the code entirely you will need to ask our sales team to search the archives. Please email your details/questions to sales@holdemmanager.com.

I'll digest the first bit later or tomorrow.
I found my Key in an email and that link also brought me to it, I'll update the rest of my details.
Many thanks for the reply.
