Hi..

Some time ago I uninstalled HEM and postgreSQL completely from my computer.

Now I want to install it again.

I have made that PostgreSQL database correctly (I think)

And now I have installed HEM and entered my license key with success.

This far it all goes well but when I come to the "Database control panel" and click "connect" is says

"A connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to have Holdem Manager attempt to start the service?" when I ckicl Yes it just says " Sorry, Holdem manager was unable to start the service"

I have checked my control panel and my PostgresSQL Database server 8.3 seems to be running so I have no idea what the problem is?

Can anyone help me with this problem?

Sorry, I missed your thread earlier, somehow. :(

Vista or XP? If Vista, is UAC off?

Try this FAQ - http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34
If that doesn't help, try to delete this file, C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\data\postmaster.pid, and then restart the postgresql service again.

If none of that helps, please email email]fozzy@holdemmanager.net[/email], with a link to this thread, your forum name, and your AIM/MSN/Skype, so you can schedule a Teamviewer (http://www.teamviewer.com)session. Download and install the Teamviewer software using all the default settings. Or you can use the Quick Support version which doesn't have to be installed.

Hi again.

I had tried the link in the FAQ but nothing of that helped.

But then I found this thread http://www.holdemmanager.net/forum/showthread.php?t=8261, maybe I coulda found that before I posted, but it worked. So I no longer have that problem.

Thanks

Oh, yes. Thank you for reminding me about that thread. I need to bookmark that, so I can suggest others try it as well. Thank you for updating the thread with your solution.
