I have had HM on my laptop for 8 months and never had a problem I open it up today and its saying failed to establish connection 127.0.0.1. I tried installing the newest test build and still have the same problem

so some one suggested

You or some other piece of software probably shutdown postgres. Go to Control Panel - admin - services and find postgres. Right click and select start and restart

but i keep getting this error

"error 1053 the service did not resond to the start or control request in timely fashion."

I tried disabling the windows firewall but every time I resart the computer its back on and I try starting it when its off and still nothing. I have no idea what brought this problem on all the sudden?

Its usually something like a virus or antivirus causing a problem allowing Postgres to start. Can you try this: http://208.109.95.123/faq/?f=153

I looked into this a bit further and seems like its a windows problem

If this dosent work google a few more fixes until you get it resolved

morny,

I tried d-loading the .net service pack and its telling me I dont have the version of the software installed. Can we chat on aim or some thing I need to get this issue resolved and I am not good with computer stuff. As well are you sure this is a problem with windows because I have this intalled for 8 months and had no problems at all then all sudden one day this started. Also is it possible for me to save this data base now even though I cant start postgres and get this vista crap off my computer and get a working version of xp on here. I have had it with windows vista its one problem after another.

email me to arrange a suitable time to use teamviewer morny@holdemmanager.net and ill have a look to see if everything is installed.

Can you have your hands backed up in advance as we may need to uninstall and reinstall PostgreSQL
