Hello I have a problem updating. I want to update form version 1.07 to 1.08.04 and got the following message.

An error occured while updating your DB (Holecard field update for Omaha): In die Übertragungsverbindung können keine Daten geschrieben werden: Eine bestehende Verbindung wurde softwaregesteuert durch den Hostcomputer abgebrochen.

Please close down any programs accessing the database and relaunch holdem manager.

After the message Holdem Manager stopped but in my task manager i can see the process HMimport is still working.

What can I do?

Please reboot, and do not open HEM. Then download and install the latest beta version - 1.09 beta 8 - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe

Now try to start HEM and see if it launches and updated properly.

I did as you told me, but when I reboot and update to version 1.09.08 it´s the same result.
After updating I get the startwindow of the Hm ( version..etc) but then the error message appears and the program stops.

Should I remove it first?
Should I remove postgres?

Can you try to go to: start > programs > my computer > C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager and double-click dbcontrolpanel.exe, and try to connect to postgresql. If it does, please try to create a new DB and set the new DB as default and open HEM. Try importing some HHs to see if the new DB is working. If so, the old DB may just be corrupted, in which case it can later be deleted thru PGAdmin.

I can create a new DB, but it doesn´t work. Same error as before.

I think uninstall/reinstall SQL is the quickest method to get you up and running.

You must *fully* remove PostgreSQL if you want to install it again.

- Uninstall from control panel.
- manually delete the Program Files\Postgresql folders
- run the command "net user postgres /delete"
- reboot.
- install again, as admin, with UAC off.
