Hello,

I want to buy a new computer next week. But i want to get my old database on my new computer. How do i do this? And is it possible keep my database when i had Windows Xp on my old computer and move to Vista on my new one?Or is it better to keep XP?
Do you have any suggestions hardware wise for my new computer to keep HEM running as smoothly as possible?

Thank you in advance

You will want to backup your HEM Database so you can restore it on the new PC (http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12), processed/archived HH files, and Config files. You may also want to export your HEM HUD Notes - Options > Notes > Export Notes.

I like to also do a manual export of my entire HEM DB to text files as well, just in case any (old) hands in my current DB are not in my current processed folder. HEM > Options > Database Management > Connect > Export Hands. Now you want to make a copy of that Exported HH Folder and put it on removable media (flash drive, CDr, etc) along with a copy of your \HMArchive\, \Config\, and exported notes. All of these folders are probably located in - C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\.

Details for all these steps can be found here in the FAQs - http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=101

If you get a Vista PC make sure you Turn Off UAC (http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73) and reboot before you begin installing anything.

Now you can install the latest full version install of HEM (http://holdemmanager.net/download.html) from the main site, and then the latest update from the HEM Releases Forum. (http://208.109.95.123/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=11)

Now you just need to install PostgreSQL 8.3. (http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=176)
