Purge freed up no space

I just purged 300,000 hands from my DB but when it went to vacuum the DB, the DOS window popped up for 5 seconds then said the process was done. Should the vacuum have been that fast? It also showed no gains in freeing up disk space on my c:drive . Is something amiss?

Just did a manual vacumm and still got less than a 1/3 a gig freed up. Any other suggestions to free up more memory?

Delete the SQL Log files located in: C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL 8.x\data\pg_log

I just did the same (manual vacuum and analyze) after purging a decent amount of hands and it did not free up any space.
Deleting the stuff in the pg_log has nothing to do with this issue even though you gain space.

Any other suggestions?

I purged my entire DB a couple weeks ago by deselecting my alias on the purge tab. When I ran a vacuum, it went from 1.6gb to about 700mb.
