Hello,

Wish I could be more specific with details...unfortunately was not expecting problems so wasn't paying much attention to everything I was doing. Now HEM won't start so I can't retrace my steps for exact details of which functions I was choosing/files I was accessing/backing up/etc.

Essentially here's the chronology:

1-My computer froze up while HEM and some other programs were open
2-When I rebooted, Windows appeared to be running normally...went to restart HEM and got a notice [not sure if it was an "error" related to SQL database (cannot remember what exactly, but I clicked the OK button to do whatever it recommended...)
3-After this, started to do database backup. There were 3 databases...everything appeared to go fine...Upon restart of HEM, though, I now get the following two popups in sequence:

http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/3167/hmdatabaseerror1.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/198/hmdatabaseerror1.jpg/)

Then this:

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/4599/hmdatabaseerror2.jpg (http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/204/hmdatabaseerror2.jpg/)

Uploaded with ImageShack.us (http://imageshack.us)

HEM then shuts down and I can't access any of the program functions...

Don't know how to proceed to troubleshoot.

Thanks in advance for help!!!

seems your database is corrupt
you can try to fix it doind reindex. Sometimes this helps, sometimes not.
see this, but select REINDEX instead http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+
if no success - you have to create new DB (in UTF encoding) and import all HHs and summaries into it from c:\HMarchive

Thanks for the help so far...unfortunately, the reindex did not work...

I am ready to make a new database...but how do I do this if HEM will not open up (it shuts down after the error message occurs).

1) You have old HM version. Update to the latest 1.12.03
http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_1.12.03.exe
2) Go to HM install folder and run dbcontrolpanel.exe
Press Connect, create new DB and make it default. Then press Start HM button in the right bottom.
