Hi, just purchased the software under a recommendation from some friends. I installed it and it works great, the HUD works, everything works. My question is: what do I do with it? It seems there's a TON of data that it collects and I'm a little overwhelemed. I never knew poker was so complex, really.

I guess I'm looking for some documentation to take me through what I can learn from this software, how it can be a tool to help me to become a better poker player.

Some preliminary questions:
1. The HUD. There's so much jargon on the screen, what is it telling me? There's already a lot of stuff I need to pay attention to and now there's another 50 lines of text that i need to read during each hand. how can i quickly make sense of the info and use it without losing my edge?

2. When I'm done my poker sessions, I see in the reports section that there are TONS of reports that I can run against my poker data. It appears that some of them are trying to help me to plug leaks in my game. I'd LOVE for it to do this... so what am I looking at and how can this info help me plug leaks?

Thanks!

1. Watch video's at http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/374/HoldemManagerVideoLibrary
List of stats (and stat abbreviations):
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/95/Stat+Definitions
and
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/388/Stats+Definition+for+Report+TAB
and
http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/51541-adding-new-stats-hm-soon-please-add-your-support-your-stats-20.html#post564721 (see attached file in that post for the latest stats)

Just start with a simple HUD:
line 1: player's name, #hands
line 2: VPIP, PFR, AGG
line 3: Fold BB to Steal, Fold to 3bet

Then gradually add more stats as you get faster in reading/interpreting them

2. In the reports tab you can see the percentages for all your stats. You can also add 250 additional stats.
You'll have to interpret yourself which stat is too low/high.
You can also go to the PLAYERS tab--> Run a report--> there you can easily see which stats are too high/low in the "Player Analysis" window.
Or run the Leakbusters free trial, which will tell you where your leaks are.
