I have a fault with my HD on my desktop and need to back up my database before I get a replacement.

I know the routine, as when i bought my desktop 5 months ago i had to move it from my laptop to the new system.

I ran holdem manager back up, and the 1st time it came up with an error message. I tried to reindex it, and am trying again now. It has been going for 2 hours and doesnt appear to be doing much:
"Starting backup"
"Archiving database:HEM 2... please be patient"

I'm not sure whether this is standard or it's because my HD is slow/faulty. The database size is around 11Gb.

Do i have any other options? I still have the original database on my laptop (with the majority of hands from before i bought my desktop)

However Ideally i would like to back up the whole database.

Create a backup in pgadminIII: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup%26RestoreDatabase
Ignore any "not responding" message during the backup process. It can take an hour to finish, and the computer will unfreeze when finished.

Also save the original handhistories from your archive folder, default: C:/HMArchive.
