I tried to do a manual vacuum today after purging over a million hands but it returns an error message repeatedly. When trying to vacuum using the HEM database management tool i get the same message which reads 'ERROR:XX000 could not read block 59441 of relation base/16397/16620: Invalid argument'.

If i try to do a DB reindex i get a similar message. Is there anything i can do since I want to reclaim the space as I will be moving it to an SSD fairly soon where space is at a premium.

Thanks

What firewall/anti virus do you have?

Have you tried creating a new database?

1) Create a new database

here's a FAQ on how to create a new database http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database

2) Import a small sample of hands

3) Try to vacuum the DB

If that works,

Your database is corrupt.

Export your Hand Histories
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands

Export Your Notes
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/notes-02.jpg

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg

Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/tourney-data-view-01.jpg

Then can you create a new database http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database

Finally reimport all your hands/notes/summaries into the new database

Hi,

If i have to create a new database and re-import my hands will i lose 2 million odd hands i've imported and then purged or will they also appear in HMArchive? It'd be pretty tragic if i lost the info from those purged hands since I'm a very heavy user of tablescanner.

Thanks

All original handhistories are in the HMArchive folder, including purged hands.

Note: if you played those hands on PokerStars/Full Tilt/PartyPoker, you can also just email their support and request the handhistories for every hand you've ever played.

I exported my hands and then reimported them into a new database but after finishing it has imported only 160k hands meaning the 3million+ hands that i had previously imported and then purged have not been exported and/or imported into the new DB.

Purged hands can't be exported because the handhistory is deleted by the purge. Please check your archive folder if you have them there.
