PostrgreSQL issues.

I have installed PostegreSQL and Hold em Manager. However when I go to connect it says.

A connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to have Hold em Manager attemt to start the service.

I click yes and the message: Sorry HEM was unable to start the service.

I click Ok and it says HEM has started the service. Please try again.

I have tried everything in FAQs etc and no luck. Please please someone help me I am going mental. Thanks
