I got my program activated and working perfectly.

Then I wanted to check my hands offline and I am not allowed to enter the program because I must ve connected to the internet in order to validate!!

How can I use it offline?

Is it normal that once I am connected again I am asked to activate the software again?

Thank you

HM verifies in different time intervals if your serial is valid or not

alexFCB

So what can I do to run it offline????

alexFCB
06-14-2009, 01:50 PM
Not possible to run the program OFFLINE?????

fabio
06-14-2009, 02:29 PM
It is, but you have to verify first

alexFCB
06-14-2009, 04:19 PM
I have the program verified and running perfectly when I am online.

But when I want to run it offline I can't because the program asks me for verification again which is not possible because I have no internet connection at that moment.

This should not happen every time, my guess is it was just bad timing

alexFCB

Keeps happening, everytime I open the program it proceeds with the verification.

fabio
06-17-2009, 09:08 PM
So you always have to register completely?

alexFCB
06-17-2009, 11:23 PM
No, but when I open the progrem it proceeds with verification. If I am online there is no problem, but if I am offline I am not able to run it.

Hi,

I was dissapointed I could not look at my Holdem Manager stats on a flight yesterday as it would not pass the license test. It would be nice to allow for sight of the program x number of days since the last time I passed a license verification.

We are still looking into this - it should not work this way and as far as I can tell it does not most people. You do need to connect to the server periodically but it should cache the license for 15 days. For some people it does not seem to cache it at all and that is what we're trying to figure out

For some people it does not seem to cache it at all

I'm having the same problem. If it helps:
* i bought HEM at Version 1.07 and had the problems with 1.07, 1.08 and 1.09beta8
* i have Vista 64bit: and the problem occures when I'm in UAC and when it's off as well. I'm running HEM in admin mode, ldo.
* while using 1.07 i had a freeware antivirus and firewall solution, but since 1.08 i've got the Kaspersky Internet Security 2009. But that didn't change anything.

Roy, if you need some more infos, i'm happy to give them to u.

Bye + thanks

Sorry, no update because I'm still not exactly sure why this is happening to some people and I have not been able to duplicate it. I can unplug my internet connection and HM runs fine. I have tried this on many pc's without any issue but I do know that this is happening to some people.

Once 1.09 is fully released I can take some additional time to teamviewer some people and see if I can figure out why it is affecting them since it should cache the license for 15 days

Either of these options should work w/o internet.

http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=12

You should also be able to export your DB to text files without issue:

start > my computer > C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe > connect > export hands.

I bought tablescanner a few weeks ago. And the last weekend, I had problems opening that as well. But somehow it started to work again. Maybe thats caused by the same thing, like the problems discussed ITT.

Addition to my last post:

As known i have to be online to start HEM. If i start HEM, then go offline and then try to add a buddy in the buddylist tablescanner wont start. Tablescanner wants to be online as well.

After that post i will try if i can use the tablescanner button when offline, if i started him when online.

We discussed this recently in a meeting and its an issue with the cache not updating on your system which causes the problem, it works on the vast majority of PCs so were going to look into fixing the issue when we narrow down whats causing the problem

The longest you can run HM offline is 7 - 14 days. It has to check every couple of weeks with the license server, but there is no way to control how often it checks.

Please update to the latest beta - http://forums.holdemmanager.com/releases/35199-1-11-05-beta-7-a.html

And get online with it, so it can check with our license server, and you should hopefully be able to use it offline for a week or two.

can you check your proxy settings, also update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Hm_1.11.05_Beta.exe

Which Operating System, Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Registry cleaner is a 3rd party tool which you need to install separately.

Another explanation is that your VM installation is constantly changing the virtual hardware of the system. In this case HM checks his license every time too.

Can you disable time synching via the internet in the Control Panel--> region/language/time/date settings in Windows.

After that, restart your computer and try to register again.

hmmmm

doubt it is a problem with the connection,

when online HEM works by contacting whatever it contacts and confirming a valid license. It then seems to forget that it has done this and does it every time.

Why don't I have an "exe.idat" file? I have one on my old laptop and didn't have this problem with that.

Only the older HM versions (1.09) used the .ldat file.
If you installed 1.10.01+ on this computer, it's no longer being used.

Hi.

I am bumping this thread instead of creating a new one because I have the exact same problem.

I've had Hold'em Manager for a couple of years now but these last months I've been trying to use it offline during trips with my laptop, and it has never worked.

Everytime I start it I get this :

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll85/Ragnarok_1er/Hemregister.jpg

So basically the software is never registered and it has to validate every time. When I'm online it works totally fine, but of course when I'm offline it fails miserably (and I get the second screen shot that Dave posted).

I have a DELL laptop with Windows Vista on it, no vmware of any kind, so I don't think it is the thing to look for, here. Also no registry cleaner or protection tool except for Avira AntiVir 9. I have tried to put it down, and the problem was still there.

I have tried doing all the stuff that was suggested here, and nothing worked, but I noticed something strange. When trying to force the run as an admin in the properties => compatibilities tab, the box is grey and I can't check it.

http://i286.photobucket.com/albums/ll85/Ragnarok_1er/HemGreybox.jpg

I am however able to make a right click => "run as an admin" directly on the .exe files, and that didn't help either.

If somebody could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.

Hi,

That unregistered message is standard for everyone, it displays when you open HM for a split 2nd while it runs the check and then once it pings the server or the files on your PC it verifies it.

If your also getting the register/trial window then that means its not registered, in that case Please email me the reg.log file from C:/Program Files/RVGSoftware/HoldemManager/log folder and ill see whats going on
