Edit: Its not the trial, I just entered my serial key and I still didn't work. (just formatted pc)

Edit2: I just created a new DB and it works fine there so its a DB problem. Is there any way to fix this? I don't want to lose my current DB...

It was possibly a corrupt database. This is why regular backups are a good idea. If your database becomes corrupt you can restore a backup and only have to import the most recent hands (that were played after the backup was created).

We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/418/Backup+%26+Restore

This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:

Manual database backup/restore via pgadmin - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup+%26+Restore+Database

To backup everything manually for reimport.

Export your Hand Histories
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands

Export Your Notes
http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/notes-02.jpg

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback – Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg

Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/tourney-data-view-01.jpg

Then can you create a new database http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database

Finally reimport all your hands/notes/summaries into the new database

If you play a site like stars/ftp you can email their support and ask for all your old hand histories and tourney histories/results.

All original hands that are auto-imported get moved to an archive for performance reasons. Your \HMArchive is likely not in your \Holdem Manager directory. We normally suggest you use C:\HMArchive, but you may have put it anywhere.

To verify the location: Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: ___________________

http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/119/Warning:+You+have+XXX+Hand+History+Files+in+your+A uto+Import+Folders

The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31).

My current DB which is a backup and restore before I formatted. My HM can import live hands when I play. But when I import other hand packages it doesn't work. Doesn't this looks weird?

I don't really want to create a new DB because 90% of my hands are already purged, while the stats remain.

My current DB which is a backup and restore before I formatted. My HM can import live hands when I play. But when I import other hand packages it doesn't work. ....

I understand it would be an inconvenience if the database is the problem. But if it is the problem there is no other solution, so we would just be wasting time trying other things.

It will only take 10 minutes to create a database and test import some hands. If they import fine in the new database you know that your backup file did not restore properly, and your original database is corrupt.

Backup/restore is not fail-proof and you should always save all original hands, as well as manually export the hands from your database when doing backups.

hand packages

Are these datamined hands you purchased? If original hands import fine and hands you purchased do not, there is a problem with the format or encoding of the mined hands, or your database is damaged. Importing observed hands is against the ToS of PokerStars and we do not support datamined hands. We only support original hands as written by the poker client.

No I'm not talking about datamined hands. My friend played one session of the same limit as I do and he send me his hand history file through skype. I cannot import it on my current DB. I can import that on a newly made DB. But when I play live, I can import my own hands on my CURRENT DB (which is a backup+restore).

If the hands are already in your database, because you played the same hands, they will not import again.

I don't understand why you are trying to import his hands from a session you played. Are you trying to import his hands to see both sets of hole cards in replay? No the hands are not already in my database. It still shows import errors: 971 on my current DB. On a newly made DB it shows no errors.

We play together at the same limit so we share our hand histories to have more stats on other players.

Everything worked fine until I formatted my pc.

Create a new database: Options--> Database Management--> Connect--> Create New Database--> (set it as default)--> Start HoldemManager

And reimport your original handhistories from the archive folder.

If you purged hands / delete original handhistories / don't have a backup of your (old) archive, email PokerStars and simply request the handhistories for every hand you've ever played. (let your friend do the same, requesting his hands by emailing PokerStars)
