I am getting an error message in the bottom right hand corner of my computer that simply comes right back up again if I close it. It says postgres has a corrupt file. Holdem manager is still working fine and so is my HUD.

My question will it be okay to uninstall and reinstall postgres? I don't want to lose all my hands I have on players.

One last thing. I play on Absolute and cannot figure out how to track my own stats. Where would I have to enter my name so I can see my graphs, statistics etc...

Thanks!

Yeah, export your hands first just in case something goes wrong you have a backup. http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=173

Then just reinstall it http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=177

I got the the second to last step off the reinstallation process but everytime it says there's a fatal error and ends.

The errors states "Failed to set permissions on the installed files. Please see logfile in 'C:\ProgramFiles/PostgreSQL\8.3\tmp\pgperm.log'.

Can you try uninstall postgreSQL then delete any other folders in C:\ProgramFiles/PostgreSQL\8.3 except for the data folder, reboot and try the reinstallation again

The same thing happened after I followed the step you have given me.

Can you try installing PostgreSQL somewhere else put it in C:\Poker\PostgerSQL instead and see if you still have the issue

Okay, I tried it in a few different locations but am still receiving the same error. At the end it also stats there is a fatal error and that it will end permanently. But I a still allowed to try running it up to that step again.

OKay, I don't really care about my old hands anymore. I just want my HEM up and working again. How would I be re-able to install postgres/HEM. Alright thanks.

Im not sure if it will make a difference but try backing up the data folder, moving it somewhere else and then delete the PostgreSQL folder in the program files folder and then reboot and reinstall

The error states. "The following error occured when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.01'."

Those two solutions did not help. I tried theme each of them all of the way through and still received the same failed to connect error. Can I just uninstall both postgres and HEM, install them as if its my first time? I just recently moved up in limits so passed data is not to important anymore. I would need my license tho, could you email it to me if we decided to go that route??

You could try that but it will more than likely return unless you follow that FAQ 100%

See this helpful video http://holdemmanagertraining.com/free_videos/free_postgres_mp4/free_Postgres.html

Okay, I finally got everything back to normal with all my old hands! Thanks for the help.

One last thing. My HUD will only display only 4 tables. if I open the 5th, 6th etc... the first four have HUD but any over 5 do not. Is there a solution to this problem (I play on AbsolutePoker)
