View Full Version : HEM not starting up

I can open the HMHud.exe but not HoldemManager.exe. Running vista, always worked fine before. Any suggestions greatly appreciated

Edit: Should be moved to the bugs section, but I don't think I can do that.

Not a bug your doing something wrong.
You say you CAN open HM or not?
Are you running Vista(crap) as ADMIN,is UAC turned OFF?
Is posgreSQL running?

I can't open HM, but when I tried to open the HmHUD (a separate program) I was able to do so. Was also able to open Tourney Manager.

Then I tried opening HM in safe mode and was able to do so. So obviously HM still works, but something is keeping it from running. This is verified when I look at the Task Manager processes. I see HoldemManager start up for a second or so (listed in the processes), and then it is terminated. This happens before the splash screen pops up with the "validating.." thing.

So right now I'm monkeying around with msconfig and trying to figure out if there's a service/startup item that's messing things up with HM.

Id say its most likely firewall/antivirus completely uninstall them to rule them out as disabling wont always work and also verify UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

9/10 this is a firewall issue
