View Full Version : fresh installation... import errors

I backed up my HEM database by using the export option on my old installation.
When I try to import, I get 100k import errors.
When I try to import from the archive, I get the same.
Auto-import also gives errors and can't import.

I tried creating a new database, reinstalling pgadmin, reinstalling HEM, and finally trying HEM omaha (trial).

Where do I go from here? Is there a way to see the error logs?
Can I test the database somehow?

I'll just try to copy the original pgadmin and HEM folders over now...

Copying doesn't work either.
I assume because the old database was created by postgresql 8.3.0, and the version I installed now is 8.3.4, but I can't find the old binaries either.

However... there is really no reason why I shouldn't be able to create a new db and import the hands again.

Now I just completely removed postgres (uninstall + removing the data folder), and reinstalled... still the same - both on importing the old hands as well as trying to use autoimport on recently played hands.

I really need to get it working again asap.

Here's my SQLErrors file from the HEM program folder:

Try creating a new database http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=146 then update to this version http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe and also verify that UAC is disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

Updated, created new database... still the same. not one hand imported.

I'm on XP SP3, so I assume the UAC part doesn't apply to me.

I did go through the FAQ before posting.

Email me to arrange a suitable time to do a teamviewer session morny@holdemmanager.net and also link to this thread

This is interesting:

Tried one more thing: using the backup of the HEM program folder with the newly installed database I can now import hands, but it doesn't seem very happy about it - takes long to start up and feels unstable.

I've already e-mailed support@hem as suggested in other threads of that type so I can unregister/ reregister the new install.
