I have same problem. After windows was updated recently, HEM stopped working. If I run the program nothing just happens. Reinstall doesn't help :/

Are you using Norton? http://hm2faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/1621/WhatIfNorton#60IsDetectingHoldemManagerAsAThreat%3 F

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Make sure you have Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 (or later for w7) installed.

---

If that doesn't resolve it, reinstall HoldemManager using the full installer @ http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

Make sure UAC is disabled

Backup your settings (File - backup, untick databases)
Uninstall HM with Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily (http://www.revouninstaller.com) (use last, the hardest method)
Thein install it again, but run installer "as admin"

I'm using nod32

I did everything I say
first disable the firewall install the update and nothing
uninstall all software using revo uninstaller
restart the computer
install the entire program
I have disabled UAC and I still see nothing the same
that much trouble if he had had none before

I would greatly appreciate your help
what I can do

ok i downloaded the updated , the previous version from a month worked ,so i went to updated it so i can check for a leakbuster update with an updated hold them manager and kapow..
there is a beep, even when set to adminstrator and it locks up at initialising database.

all that stuff you described sure sounds like a lot of trouble for an update ,, and it shouldn't be on us to do that, unless alll your windows 7 customers are having this problem (if so it is up to you guys to work on a windows 7 update as despite only 1 person here, i am sure we two arent' the only customers ) .

disgruntled customer, angry but still loyal to hem.

ok i downloaded the updated ,

Run dbcontrolpanel.exe from the HoldemManager folder. Create a new database. Reimport your hands into the new database.
If you're unable to connect to PostreSQL in dbcontrolpanel.exe reinstall PostgreSQL.
