Seem to have suddenly encountered a problem;

On trying to start HEM, I get an error screen;

"An error occured on startup:Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt"

??? New one on me!

Running XP, AVG av, Windows updates set to auto, been running HEM trouble free up to now, has it been affected by an update?

Regards

Tried again after updating netsrak, still can't start HEM, getting exactly the same error message as quoted in OP.

Incidentally, I run HEM on a 2nd pc (with windows 7), and have had no problems after recent windows updates. So problem isolated to my XP machine.

Is XP updated to Service Pack 3?
Manually run a Windows Update and install ALL updates.

Reinstall HoldemManager with the full installer @ http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

Patvs,

I've manually checked & installed all MS updates.

Re-installed HEM using your link, still get the error message when HEM starts on exit from installer?

Will do, I have searched google & the trail seems to be leading to a problem with .NET framework? Is that likely?? Seeing lots of similar threads???

Uninstall your current NetFramework version with this tool: http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
and download the "big" installer (230 MB)
http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe
and run it

Thanks Sarek,

That seems to have done the trick. It's a long, painful, process; but at the end of it all I can start HEM again!

All my HUDs & settings seem to have been lost in the process, but I can re-set those.

Thanks again
