I start expirience problems in 1.08.03

I have used 1.06 for last 6month without any problems,but when i installed 1.08.03 computer become work REALY slow:mad:(got Q6600+2GBram) ...
Is there a way to increase performance of HM 1.08 ???
Maybe somthing to do with my windows XP???
