Im getting the message that HEM has "failed to create table overlay" when I'm playing on Poker Stars. This doesn't happen if I play on my other site.

It then states that this could be solved by running as administrator, which Im already am.

What is wrong, and more important, how can I fix this?

Is UAC disabled http://www.holdemmanager.net/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73 and if so please Can you follow these instructions:

1) Make a backup of your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder
2) Uninstall HM via the Control Panel
3) Go to Program Files and delete the RVG Software directory, or the equivalent for Vista
4) Reboot your computer
5) Install the complete setup of HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/holdemmanager.zip
7) Download the latest patch HM: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate.exe
8) Test if it for a while and see if it work
9) Close down Holdem Manager and copy the config folder from step 1 and copy and overwrite it to your C:\Program Files\RVG Software\Holdem Manager\Config folder
10) Test if it works again for a while

Hi,

Did you try the above, does it still happen after doing that?

Same problem here too. Had not used HM for about a week and when I started it to play on Stars I got "failed to create empty table.." when I tried to start auto import.

morny, in your first post you mention something about UAC and a link which now is dead. What's that about?

Hi krossarn - Where are you with your problem ?
If you have XP or earlier you don't have to worry about UAC

If you have Vista or Win7:
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Run .exe Files As Administrator (Windows 7 & Vista) (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/129/Run+.exe+Files+As+Administrator+%28Windows+7+%26+V ista%29)
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Turning Off UAC (Vista) (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/29/Turning+Off+UAC+%28Vista%29)
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Turning Off UAC (Windows 7) (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/30/Turning+Off+UAC+%28Windows+7%29)

####### UAC #######
UAC = User Account Control is a security feature that M$ brought in with Vista

The M$ line is this:

What is User Account Control? (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/What-is-User-Account-Control)
User Account Control (UAC) is a feature in Windows that can help prevent unauthorized changes to your computer. UAC does this by asking you for permission or an administrator* password before performing actions that could potentially affect your computer's operation or that change settings that affect other users. When you see a UAC message, read it carefully, and then make sure the name of the action or program that's about to start is one that you intended to start.

By verifying these actions before they start, UAC can help prevent malicious software (malware) and spyware from installing or making changes to your computer without permission.
Basically M$ have bolted training wheels onto the OS :)

Thanks for your reply Loki. My problem disappeared after a reboot, but I will try your sollution if it returns. I don't know what caused the problem in the first place, but maybe something went wrong during my update of HM.

Sorry for the late reply. I run XP, btw.
