When I open HEM, it says "Unable to connect to 127.0.01" and then follows with what I should do if I'm running Vista. I've already got User Access Control turned off, HEM is running as admin (as it was when it worked) and dbcontrolpanel's run as admin status can not be changed (it's greyed out so I can't click on whether its on or off). So pretty much it's not connecting to postgres, and I don't really know how to get around that.

A friend suggested Programs --> Postgres --> Restart Service, but that doesn't exist on my program, I've only got "stop service" and "start service" and i've tried exiting HEM, stopping and starting the service, and then running HEM, but it's still the same problem.

Your help is really appreciated.

I've gone through each and single one of the different tips for solving this problem. I'm running everything as administrator. I've removed the UAC. I've turnt off both Windows Defender and Firewall. I've restarted postgreSQL. I even reinstalled it as suggested.

I still get the "failed to establish connection to 127.0.0.1" so please don't give me the standard reply to look at the FAQ.

I am in Thailand right now and I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, it's definately possible. I did however ask some other friends that's here and they haven't had any problems at all.

I just looked through about 14-15 pages of threads here and stumbled upon this one: http://208.109.95.123/forum/showthread.php?t=8261

All it took for me was step one. Ridiculously easy fix after reinstalling everything and messing with this for hours :D

PCP_Poker seems like a genius to me right now! ;)
