Why the manager calculate wrong EV in 18 man SNG in Pokerstars?

Luck Adjusted Winnings can't be calculated in MTTs.
Does HoldemManager wrongly display EV when you finish in 18th-10th place?

Is there a patch available for HEM to fix 18mans so that they record +/- properly?

You need to import additional tourney summaries:
Stars now supports the automatic writing of summaries: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/441/Poker+Stars+Tournament+Summary+Setup

For older tourneys you have to request tournament summaries manually: Pokerstars > Requests > Tournament Histories...
and import the data from the mail: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/117/Import+Emailed+Hand+Histories+

Then import them manually to HM.

I was told that additional imports are unnecessary if you have version 1.12.03. Is this true? If so, could I please get a link to it?

Thanks

You always have to import the summary files.

Is there a way to request summary files from Stars of recent games you have played, that will be importable in HEM? I requested tournament summaries from stars and it came in an excel file.

-1: You need to request and import any/all your tournament histories and import those to HM. Stars does not write the tourney summaries to your hard drive, like FTP does.

Pokerstars > Lobby > Requests > Tournament History .. > 200
Then you have to create a text file, from the email they'll sent you, to import to HM.

-2: You can also just run a "import from file" on the .xml/Excel file they emailed you.

Hi there.

I am struggling to fix my issue. Is there any chance I could arrange a quick TeamVeiwer session with somebody who can show me how to do it or find out what my problem is?

Thank you.

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate.exe to 1.12.07
Create a new database: Options--> Database Management--> Connect--> Create New Database--> (set it as default)--> Start HoldemManager
Import your handhistories
Import the .xml file (or import your summaries)

For all future games: Read the tournament summary section @ http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/6/PokerStarsSetup
and make sure they're also saved and imported.

I have updated to the latest version, created a new database, and am currently in the process of importing all my 18man hands. Where do I get the .xml file? Stars sent me a .xlsx when I requested tournament summaries.

Thank you.

I'm noticing that as I'm importing all my hands, the "results" tab is now accurate (it wasn't before when I tried this on my previous version).

I don't think I've imported any summaries yet - why is it currently working for me?

When the hands are finished importing, try running a import from file on the .xlsx file.
Stars is constantly changing the format of the file they sent with the results, so I'm not sure if HoldemManager can import the new .xlsm file formatting.

It's not letting me import a .xlsx file - please advise.

Email PokerStars, ask for your results, in a .htm / or .html file.
For your last 200 games, Pokerstars > Lobby > Requests > Tournament History .. > 200
And run a import from file on the email they'll sent you.

HEM seems to understand 18mans now. How often do I need to import summaries like this - is it just a perpetual thing for as long as you play?

I'm confused because even before I just went ahead and imported my summaries, it was working just fine.

You only need to import summaries like this once. (requesting your last 200)

For all new games, make sure PokerStars saves them, and the folder they're saved in is added as an auto import folder so they've savimported automatically from now on. Read the tournament summary section @ http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/6/PokerStarsSetup

It indeed seems HM now understands the 18mans, even without summaries. But the summaries are still needed when you play larger MTTs. (they contain info: #entrants, your finish position, how much you won, etc.)

So does HEM1 show correct ev for 18 man or does it not? This thread confuses me.

Patvs

No HM1 (and HM2) will only show EV for STTs. (single table tournaments)
A 18man SNG is considered a MTT.

JTM

It definitely shows, the question is, does it show correctly? With bigger mtts it does not show, but at 18 man it shows.

As You can see, it does show.

Patvs

We have a ticket request to implement EV for 18man SNGs, HM-6397 (request for HM2).

Currently the EV is not supposed to show for 18man SNGs.
If it does show, just ignore it. Some hands will wrongfully result in a EV Diff, but the numbers being used for that calculation are inaccurate.

Has this been implemented yet?

fozzy71

No, it never will be implemented for HM1. It may eventually be implemented for HM2 (or HM3) but there are no short-term plans for adding it at this time.
