what is the name of that free application which lets you circle
parts of what is on your desktop to copy and paste into
forums for help or show configuration.

snip it or something like that. I can't find it and I need it.

I think I found a free applications that lets you copy portions of
whatever is on your desktop. it's called:

screen cut, the other is called snippy

I can't get them to copy HUD though.

I get a great picture of the poker room i'm in, but the
heads up display rectangle will not photo for some reason.

How do you folks take pictures of your desktop (windows XP)?
What software are you using?
Is it free? or easy to use?

Just use the PRINT SCREEN key on your keyboard.

Then open MSPaint (or Irfanview) and hit PASTE.

Save the image and upload here.

There is an application called Snipping Tool, which I believe is a feature of Windows Vista. I have no idea whether it is compatible with XP, though.

This is how I do it. It's free. Just upload the saved image to imageshack or another free site and link the URL.
